According to the minister, the condition of Nigerian roads is merely being exaggerated by the citizens.

“I know that this is going to be your headline, but the roads are not that bad,”

the minister claimed. Fashola stated this when he spoke with journalists after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting held on Wednesday, November 6, and chaired by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo. According to the minister, the FEC approved the construction of Bida-Sachi-Nupeko road. It also approved the Nupeko-Patigi bridge across River Niger and linking Nupeko and Patigi in Niger and Kwara states.





The contract sum is put at N58.488 billion. The minister noted that contract was earlier awarded in 2013 but was terminated for non-performance, re-valuated and awarded again.

“It didn’t have a bridge then so we have added the bridge now and approved for N58.488 billion and is expected to take 30 months to complete," Fashola said.
