LaLiga: Why Real Madrid will not play home fixtures at Bernabeu
Real Madrid will not play their remaining home fixtures at the Santiago Bernabeu when LaLiga returns later this month.
The club's president, Florentino Perez, in a letter on Monday confirmed that they will instead finish the 2019/2020 campaign at their training complex.
This means Zinedine Zidane's side will play their matches at the Alfredo Di Stéfano Stadium at Valdebebas.
In a letter, Perez also spoke of the financial impact of COVID-19.
"We have made the decision to play in the Alfredo Di Stéfano stadium in our Ciudad Real Madrid all the games in which we will play as a local team.
"This decision will allow us to advance in the works of the Santiago Bernabéu stadium," part of it read.
The last game to be played at the Bernabeu, was Madrid's 2-0 victory to arch rivals Barcelona on March 1.
