Liverpool 0-0 Arsenal Gunners Hold On
The second of the Carabao Cup’s semi-finals will belatedly get underway this evening as Liverpool host Arsenal in the first leg of their tie at Anfield.
The first leg was due to be played at the Emirates Stadium last week, but was postponed due to a number of positive Covid tests in the Liverpool camp, which Reds boss Jurgen Klopp subsequently claimed included “a lot of false-positives”.
That has been a cause of some frustration to Arsenal, who have their own availability and injury issues as they look to bounce back from the weekend’s dismal FA Cup third round exit at the hands of Nottingham Forest.
The winner of this two-legged tie (the second leg is set for next Thursday) will face Chelsea in the final at Wembley on February 27 after Thomas Tuchel’s side wrapped up a comfortable 3-0 aggregate victory over Tottenham last night.
